Thrifting Thursday #2

This week was another brilliant week for thrifting, i managed to grab a few of my favourite things at great prices... who doesn't love a bargain?
I have a collection of vintage tapestries that hang on my living room wall, i really hate seeing these at bootsales and charity shops as i can see all the hard work that has gone into them, so most of the time if i see them, i find it very hard to leave them.

The one below is one of my favourites, it really reminds me of paint by numbers.

I also managed to get some clothes, i found this great cardigan, that i just had to have as soon as i saw it.

I will hopefully be starting outfit posts soon, and hopefully getting a new camera, so please be patient with me.

portrait by Rachele

Here is my amazing portrait by Rachele over at thenearsightedowl. I actually screamed when i opened the email, even my little girl Isabelle said look its you mummy. I think she is so talented, and also very helpful and friendly, as i am new to blogging and technology.

She is offering a a free medium ad space with the the purchase of a portrait, so go and check it out. you wont be disappointed.

Project #1 sneak peak

Project number 1, that I am currently working on is a knitted chevron blanket for our bed.

It is burgundy and red, to match our room. This is my first real knitting project. I only taught myself how to knit a few weeks ago. So watch this space, I will keep you all updated with this as it grows.

I'm knitting this on 5mm round needles, it it 241 stitches wide.

New glasses

I can't believe I finally have new glasses after a LONG......... 4 year wait. My old glasses are actually falling apart, but it's something I just kept forgetting about.

I got a great deal, they where buy one get on free, and I love both pairs just as much as each other. But there are so many other pairs I would love to get, maybe this is the start of a glasses collection. I would love to just be able to change style all the time.

Oh and I didn't realise just how long my fringe has grown.... That is in desperate need of cutting, I usually have short betty bangs.

What do you think?

Thrifting Thursday

This week i have been really lucky with thrifting and have found some pretty exciting stuff.
I try to go thrifting at least once a week to my local shops, but sometimes go further away to other places when i have the free time.

This week i found a vntage wooden sewing storage box, and got it at a great price. I have been looking for one of these forever, and im so glad i found one, i just have to fill it with all my goodies and find the perfect spot for it.

I also managed to find 2 owls to add to my collection.

Here they are together with some of my other thrifted things:

Bracelet making

I recently started making friendship braclets again. I am obsessed with anything chevron at the moment. I love all the brown and orange tones. It didnt take long once i got started, and im really happy with the results.
when i was finished making the chevron one, i wanted to try something a bit more difficult so i tried a advanced pattern. I made the second bracelet for my sister.

I plan to continue making different bracclets and will keep everyone updated with them.
